NASHAWN WILLIAMS SOLIDARITY RALLY
JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED
SILENCE = COMPLICITY
Saturday, December 15, 2007
12:30 PM
Plainfield Town Hall
8 Community Avenue, Plainfield CT
Carpools leaving 2550 Main Street, Hartford at 11 AM
Nashawn Williams, a 16-year old African-American man, was beaten, dragged and doused with hot coffee by a racist gang called “K Nation” in Plainfield CT on Oct. 19. He suffered a concussion and has been afraid to go to school since then. The police chief called K Nation “a few idiots with big mouths running around.” Nashawn’s injuries were not caused by idiots. They were inflicted by racist thugs.
NO arrests in 7 weeks!
Nashawn and his mother have been re-victimized by a police department that has dragged its feet and by local and state elected officials, clergy and community leaders who by their collective silence have communicated that the life of a young black man is of little consequence in Connecticut.
