My Shrink Is A Fink
note: Poem by T.E.D, Winter 69-70
My Shrink Is A Fink
My shrink is a fink
I think.
He tells me I’m schizo;
SCHIZO!!!?????
SCHIMITZO!!!!!
He’s full of beans.
HATE and LOVE
HAWK and DOVE
WAR and PEACE
ELBOW GREASE!
(Oh boy, Tolstoy!
Have you got a problem!)
My case ain’t no riddle,
I just don’t like the middle.
‘Go to work.’
‘Pay your taxes.’
If your bowels don’t move, there’s always EX-Laxes.
DOCTOR!
May I be a bit more serious
(though you may think me highly delirious.)
SUMMER FALL
WINTER SPRING
Mother Nature does her thing…….
Highly schizophrenically.
Spring is progression…..
and Summer procession…..
Fall is regression.
and Winter repression.
And God made them all.
DOCTOR!!!
I hope you ain’t gonna tell me
that GOD is crazy!
Buddha and Jesus
and Moses and Mary
Confuscius and Krishna
and Old Uncle Harry.
All the wintertime people
brought spring to my life.
God bless you doctor;
and
GET WELL SOON!!!
