On Being The Same As If Asleep. Thoughts For Our People.
In this time where we wait for actual change, we write, we speak and hope that our words will send the spark that leads to an idea that brings on change. Real change. That needed condition.
But where today do we speak of revolution? Those who are filled with far too much now occupy the places that once were the breeding ground for action.
But some of us are reminded while some they sleep, that is days gone by, the bank burned on the corner was a testament to revolt and was worth more than our words, our writing, our thousands of leaflets and slogans that denounced oppression, and the way things are.
But now we walk, we talk, we see, we look just like those who dare to hate and oppose our very being and in doing so we oppress us.
Our failure lies in calling out, “We are just like you, We are not any different.” It is there we lost our edge, the edge that made us, the edge that bore the seeds of great rebellion, the germ of revolutionary hope and actual change.
And now with so many doors that are opening before us and we stand face to face to our face to theirs all in one the enemy. The scary horror that once was, is now us. How easy it has become for many to delight in it.
But just when we think that we never had it so good, BEWARE! For up they will jump, BOO they will shout, chew you up and spit you out. Please listen.
So while you can and while they let you and while you are there do so, dream on being the same as if asleep, dream on in all’s well while some of us rebel and speak out for actual change with or without you.
How many out there are really us, we don’t know. Those who will listen without muffs tied tightly around their ears, decorated with the okay all righty, all is well, and nothing could be finer.
We write, we speak, we hope that more than just a handful will listen that more than just one will burn down the bank.
