We Almost Lost Detroit
The brilliance of McCain shines through each and every day of his pitiful life. Today he went to the Fermi 2 nuclear power plant near Monroe, Michigan (not far from Detroit) to espouse the benefits of Nuclear Energy and made the brilliant statement (regarding nuclear power): “I knew it was safe then (when he was in the Navy) … I know it’s safe now.” I can only surmise that this president wannabe fool is a total idiot when it comes to historical facts (and of course most things he says confirms this) for in 1966 the Fermi 1 reactor suffered a partial fuel meltdown! Or perhaps he wasn’t tuned into Gil Scott-Heron’s powerful song “We Almost Lost Detroit” or guess he wasn’t rapping to MUSE (Musicians United for Safe Energy whose first album was No NUKES!). I have pasted just a sampling of Gil Scott-Heron’s song below:
Just thirty miles from Detroit
stands a giant power station.
It ticks each night as the city sleeps
seconds from anniahlation.
But no one stopped to think about the people
or how they would survive,
and we almost lost Detroit
this time.
Though perhaps such insensitive and stupid actions are part of his repertoire considering on June 17, in Houston, not horridly far from the Bay of Campeche oil spill, he spouted off about the benefits of offshore drilling; or his visit to Santa Barbara, site of the famous 1969 oil spill, where he chastised families for not wanting the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste site in their backyard; or when he recently had to cancel a trip to Louisiana, where he intended to spout off about the safety record of the oil industry, after a huge oil spill shut down 25 miles of the Mississippi. Or finally just the other day at the Urban League Heir Brilliant McCain suggested adopting tactics used in Iraq to combat urban crime here at home. In response to a question he is quoted as saying: “And some of those tactics, very frankly-you mention the war in Iraq-are somewhat like that we use in the military. You go into neighborhoods, you clamp down, you provide a secure environment for the people that live there, and you make sure that the known criminals are kept under control. And you provide them with a stable environment, and then they cooperate with law enforcement.”
Clearly McCain’s an f’ing idiot, ‘course name me a politician that isn’t. Representative Democracy my ass!

Thank you Jeri. What a wonderful post to describe that Mr. Scary with his too rich Barbie Doll wife. The guy really knows how to talk crap and doesn't care where or how he does. It shows what a idiot he is. Now that is something his plans for the city. I wonder if that includes blowing up our houses and killing our children? So we got Mr. IDIOT and Mr. Flip Flop wishing to run the land. EEK GADS!!! What a song, “No one stops to think about the babies or how they will survive.”
