Million Doors for Peace.
QWB re-posts from an e-mail to us.
I’m excited to announce Voters for Peace’s participation in the “Million Doors for Peace” coalition. The effort to end the Iraq occupation is taking a new direction with this innovative approach to community organizing. Peace advocates talking to people in their community and organizing them into an effective political force will build the type of movement we need to end the war and prevent future wars of aggression.
On September 20th, peace activists will mobilize to knock on a million doors in communities across the country. Our mission is to ask our friends and neighbors to contact Congress to bring about a swift and responsible end to U.S. military involvement in Iraq. We’ve set up a page where you can sign up for a territory in your community. On September 20th you - and one million others - will take to the streets greeting your neighbors and asking them: “Are you tired of war?” And, in a coordinated way urging all of our elected officials to end the Iraq war and occupation.
We’ve protested, we’ve sent emails, and now, we’re going to get other voters to join with us to end the occupation. Please sign up here to get your materials…and save the date-September 20-the day we mobilize a million voters to end the occupation of Iraq.
Sincerely,Kevin B. Zeese
