Join Queers Without Borders, in support of event organizers Rev. Henry Brown and Mothers United Against Violence, on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 12:00 noon on the steps of the State Capitol at the “We the People March for Justice and Awareness Rally and Press Conference” to address the issue of youth and urban violence. Safety, quality of life, and the pursuit of happiness are rights that every person in Connecticut deserve, not just those who live in wealthy suburbs. Together we can make a difference!
Our understanding is that a march will be organized from Main/Albany Ave at around 10 AM prior to the Rally at the Capitol (Details to follow). As you will see in the video clip from below (Struggle TV/Stan Heller), Rev Henry Brown and Mothers United Against Violence challenged those attending the Hope Out Loud Rally that the tragedies occuring in Iraq are also occuring less than a 1/4 mile away within Hartford. Violence in all forms: racial, economic, sexist, homo/trans phobic, religious, and financial effect ALL communities and we must join all our voices and bodies in unison and outrage to call for an End to Violence and the end to the social and financial constructs implicitly/explicitly encouraging violence within our society.
